Perkins Homes

Originally built in 1942, Perkins Homes consisted of 629 public housing apartment units in more than 50 three-story brick barrack-style buildings, with a community center and various outdoor spaces interspersed between the buildings.

The redevelopment area spans eight contiguous blocks, including the original public housing site and two adjacent parcels. As a key component of the PSO (Perkins/Somerset/Old Town) Transformation Plan, Perkins Homes will be reshaped into a community of choice that is inviting, promotes resident pride and unity among neighbors, and is fully integrated into the surrounding area.
