Busboys and Poets Now Open at Nine East 33rd

Busboys and Poets is now open at Nine East 33rd in Charles Village! Located at 3224 St. Paul Street, this is the company’s first Baltimore location. In addition to selling food, drinks, and books, Busboys and Poets is known for hosting open mic nights, readings, and other community-focused events.

“We were absolutely excited when the first Busboys and Poets on the corner of 14th & V (DC) opened up. It was absolutely THE place to be and Andy’s vision for Busboys and Poets was deeply appreciated by the entire city,” said Dr. Maya Rockeymore Cummings (Former Maryland Democratic Party Chairwoman, widow of Baltimore’s own Rep. Elijah Cummings) in an address to new staff members. “So much so that they went from one basically capstone experience on the corner of 14th & V, to 5 locations within the city of D.C. That means that there was a lot of demand. I think that same kind of demand is actually here in Baltimore.”

Dr. Cummings added: “My husband Elijah Cummings and I did a lot of dates in the Busboys and Poets down in the D.C. area. He would have never imagined in a million years that there would be one in Baltimore and that he would have a room named after him. He would have been deeply, deeply honored.”

Busboys and Poets - Baltimore will host its first community open mic event on Saturday, June 19 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the venue’s private events room, The Elijah Cummings Room.
